Hi, I’m Marco Arment. I run Overcast with no other employees, no VC funding, and a sustainable work-life balance (hopefully) so I can spend enough time with my family. Nice to meet you.

I’m a software developer, writer, podcaster, and huge podcast fan. I talked about why I love podcasts and why I made Overcast during this XOXO 2013 presentation.

Technical support is not available, but I welcome your feedback. To help me handle it all, please direct it properly:

I will try to read and consider every tweet and email, but I can’t respond to them all. I wish I could, but I can’t. (That’s life.) Thanks for understanding.

The most common question I get: How do I list my podcast in Overcast?

All you need to do is ensure that you’re in Apple’s iTunes podcast directory and have at least one audio episode in your feed, and you’ll start showing up in Overcast within a day or two. That’s it. You don’t need to work with me or agree to any terms, and I don’t get in your way or interfere with your stats: all downloads go directly to your servers.

Overcast’s top directory categories include the top podcasts recommended in the app by Overcast’s customers. If you’d like to rank higher in these, feel free to encourage your listeners to recommend your show in Overcast.
